2012 Cyprus Stamp Issues

List of Republic of Cyprus Stamp issues for 2012

1. 31st January 2012

a) "Horses" comprising of 4 four stamps plus on the same day will also see the release of:
     Refugee Tax Fund stamp reprint for 2012.

2. 21st March 2012

b) "Olympic Games - London 2012" comprising of four stamps.

c) "Euro 2012" Comprising of one stamp (a mini sheet).

3. 2nd May 2012

d) "Aromatic Flowers - Jasmine"  -  consists of a  minisheet and a single stamp. This commemorative issue will be the second of a series where an aromatic varnish will be used in the printing.
e) "Europa 2012" consists of two stamps and a booklet containing a strip of 4 sets of stamps (8 stamps).

The common theme adopted by the European Postal Organisation (POSTEUROP) is "Visit.....".

4 - 1st July 2012

f) "Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2012" comprising of a single stamp and a souvenir sheet (with a high face value of €10).

5. 3rd October 2012

g) "Children's Stamp" - "The Cricket and the Ant" (Aesop's Fables).  Will consist of 5 x self-adhesive stamps in booklet form. All indications are that like last year, there will be no official First Day Covers released for this issue.

6. 14th November 2012

h) "Christmas 2012" - comprising of three stamps.
   Christmas maximum cards x 3.

h1) "Pavlos Kontides the Cypriot Olympic Medallist" an addition to the preliminary list to honour Cyprus' London Olympic Games 2012 silver medal winner in the Laser Sailing category.

On the same date, the commonly known Year Packs (Presentation Packs) will be issued and like last year will now in the form of a hard backed booklet (A4 size) containing all stamps issued for the year along with information and/or history of the stamp issue.
Special Albums 2012 (containing all 2012 stamp issues and official first day covers) will also be released. Photos to come soon.

Details for the Definitive stamp issues for 2012 will be communicated in due course.

First Day Covers for all of the above listed issues will be released at the same time as the relevant stamp issue date, unless otherwise stated.
