Cyprus has been a pioneer in the creation and establishment of the Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSEs) and has been continuously participating in all game organisations since their establishment in 1985. During the 20 events to date, the missions of the Cyprus Olympic Committee have been distinguished for their ethos, competitiveness and high athletic performance, making our country a leading force in the Games.

In 2025, at the Andorra event organisation, Cyprus won the first place in the medal table, after 14 years, achieving a top distinction that confirms the continuous progress and quality of Cypriot athletes.

The stamps of the series are a tribute both to this great success and to the long-term and stable presence of Cyprus in the GSSEs. It is a collective tribute to the values of effort, unity and sports, that have guided the Cypriot sports movement over time.
