This year marks the 1700th anniversary of the convocation of the Council of Nicaea, the First Ecumenical Council of Christian bishops, which assembled in the province of Bithynia in AD 325 - having been convened by the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great.
The attendance of bishops from the province of Cyprus in this Council is attested.
